Common questions
What is Junior Mentor?+
Junior Mentor is a practical learning platform for aspiring and junior developers. Instead of only watching tutorials, you'll work through real-world projects covering software development, backend development, cloud, DevOps, and more.
Who is Junior Mentor for?+
Junior Mentor is designed primarily for aspiring developers and junior software engineers who want practical experience and a clearer path toward becoming job-ready.
Do I need professional experience to join?+
No. You don't need professional experience to get started. You'll build your skills progressively through guided projects, documentation, and practical challenges.
Is Junior Mentor just a collection of courses?+
No. The focus is on building. You'll work through projects that require you to apply what you're learning, rather than simply watching videos and following along with tutorials.
What will I learn?+
The learning tracks cover areas such as frontend and backend development, authentication, APIs and integrations, databases, cloud, DevOps, and self-directed projects. The exact content depends on the learning track you're following.
Do I get to build real projects?+
Yes. Projects are a core part of Junior Mentor. You'll build applications and work through practical development tasks designed to give you experience you can actually talk about in interviews.
Can I learn at my own pace?+
Yes. Junior Mentor is designed for self-paced learning, so you can work through the projects and material around your existing work, studies, and other commitments.
What happens when I complete a project?+
You'll submit your work for review and work through the requirements for that project. Completing projects also contributes toward your Junior Mentor progress and points.
What are Junior Mentor points?+
Points are part of the Junior Mentor progression system. You earn them by completing parts of the programme and can eventually redeem eligible points for rewards, including an AWS foundational certification voucher.
Is an AWS certification voucher included?+
Eligible Junior Mentor members can work toward earning an AWS foundational certification voucher through the Junior Mentor points system. The exact requirements and available certification are shown in the platform.
Is there a free trial?+
We don't offer a trial, but our 5-day refund policy means you can start risk-free.
What if I'm completely new to programming?+
That's okay. Junior Mentor is aimed at people building their development skills, but you should be prepared to learn independently and spend time working through the projects. The programme is designed around practical progression rather than simply giving you answers.
Will Junior Mentor guarantee me a job?+
No. We don't guarantee employment. Our goal is to help you build practical development skills, projects, and experience that can strengthen your preparation for the job market.
Can Junior Mentor help me prepare for interviews?+
Yes. The practical experience you gain through the projects is intended to give you stronger material to discuss during technical interviews. We also cover topics that can help you understand what is expected of junior developers in the workplace.
Can I cancel my membership?+
Yes. You can cancel your membership according to the terms of your plan. Your access will continue according to the applicable cancellation and billing terms.
What if I get stuck on a project?+
You're not expected to figure everything out immediately. Junior Mentor provides documentation, learning material, project guidance, and support to help you work through problems while still encouraging you to develop your own problem-solving skills.
